Hardly Working keeps your status green while you're somewhere else. Entirely. Reliably. Quietly.
Signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs in one click. It then needs the Accessibility permission — macOS grants nothing else the right to move a cursor. Click the menu bar icon and choose “Open Accessibility Settings…”.
Prefer Homebrew? brew install --cask blazmad/tap/hardly-working — the Accessibility step above still applies.
What it actually does
Nothing opens, nothing gets selected, nothing you'd have to explain.
Most jigglers just quietly die. You find out when someone asks where you were all afternoon.
While you're using your Mac, it does nothing at all. No cursor fighting, no jumping.
The part nobody else mentions
Your Mac decides to sleep by watching the same idle counter this app keeps resetting. So while Hardly Working is active, your Mac won't fall asleep on its own — and neither will your screen lock itself.
On a work machine that matters, precisely in the situation this app is built for. Lock it yourself on the way out: Ctrl ⌘ Q, or set a hot corner to lock the screen.
Every other jiggler does this too. We're just the ones telling you.
